High school diploma or equivalent; proficiency in technology, student information systems (SIS), office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace), basic bookkeeping methods, and general office equipment.
Serve as receptionist and office manager in the general office, greeting and accommodating parents, students, staff, and visitors. Answer multi-line telephones and manage general office inquiries and correspondence. Make Principal, Assistant Principal, and Dean of Students appointments. Prepare, edit, and distribute communications and messaging to school stakeholders using various platforms, including SchoolMessenger, the school website, social media, and newsletters. Process, prepare, edit, and distribute all paperwork and correspondence (including office to teacher, office to home, suspension letters, expulsion forms, and recommendations). Perform minor bookkeeping tasks, including processing purchase orders, tracking supply requisitions, collecting, recording, and depositing payments, and assisting with basic account tracking. Prepare requests for office supplies and purchase orders, and distribute materials as required. Prepare and maintain time sheets for all non-licensed personnel. Maintain and report records of teacher absences and substitute personnel. Be responsible for all mail and mail distribution to teachers. Be responsible for maintenance and service of all office machines and equipment. Type, prepare, and file various reports and administrative documents as needed. Type all information, assemble folders, and organize materials for the opening and closing of the school year, as well as registration (including summer school). Maintain bulletin boards in the office area. Keep files up to date in the main office, including building personnel files and facility/building-use forms, maintaining strict confidentiality. Supervise students sent to the office until disciplinary action can be taken. Maintain accident reports for employees and students. Provide basic first aid to ill and/or injured students, notifying parents if necessary. Help guide students to the appropriate counselor, social worker, nurse, or administrator when in need. Serve as liaison between offices, promoting cooperation and coordination of services. Exhibit initiative, creativity, and good judgment in making decisions, reflecting a positive attitude and work ethic representing Lake Ridge Schools. In the absence of other office personnel, fill in as needed. Perform such reasonable duties as assigned by the Principal or leadership team.
