Site Safety and Health Officer - Border WallLaredo, TX | $115,000 to $140,000 per year | Full-timeA heavy civil contractor has been awarded a multi-year federal design-build contract to continue construction of the U.S. Border Wall in South Texas, and is hiring a Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO). The project covers more than 60 miles of barrier wall, along with patrol road construction and repair, bridges, boat ramps, and electrical, lighting, and detection system installation. The SSHO will be based in the Laredo, TX area for the length of the project. The contract sets specific minimum qualifications for this role, and applicants must show that experience clearly on their resume.ScheduleFull-time, on-site at the project in the Laredo, TX area. Candidates must live near the project for its duration.Compensation$115,000 to $140,000 per year.What You'll DoAs the SSHO, you will lead the site safety program on a large federal design-build project and make sure all work meets USACE EM 385-1-1 requirements. You will develop, review, and enforce Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), conduct daily site inspections, and document findings and corrective actions.You will oversee subcontractor safety across a linear project covering more than 60 miles. That includes managing high-risk heavy civil activities such as excavation, heavy equipment operation, lifting operations, bridge work, and electrical installation.
